Mahashivratri 2017

Mahashivratri, one of the most honored Indian festivals, is celebrated with great devotion and commitment by Hindus in the honor of Lord Shiva.

It is believed when Goddess Parvati asked Shiva about the rituals that satisfied him the most, Lord Shiva replied that ‘The 13th night of the new moon, in the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha), during the month of Phalgun (Feb/ March), is one of his choicest day’, that is now known as Shivratri.

Both married and unmarried women keep fast for whole day and do Shiva Linga Puja with immense devotion to please the Goddess Parvati or Gaura Mata in order to get the marital delight as well as long, wealthy and prosperous married life.
