What is Astrology?

Astrology is not only an illustrative language with age old roots but it is also a way to track the path of time.

Astrology: the word is a combination of two words- ‘Astro’ meaning stars and ‘logos’ mean language. This being the major reason of the common saying, “Astrology is language of stars”. For some people, it is just a language referred to describe the vibes that make up the universe.

It falls more into metaphysics i.e beyond physics.  There have been many ancient theories of energy patterns like Fengshui, Acupuncture, Yoga, so it is similar to these fields.

Over the years, humans have relied on the heavens for direction. By heaven, here we refer to the many cultures that look skyward and see the face of divine there. The constellations and the universe always leave with the sense of wonder.

To put it more simply, it is the science and the study of the correlation between the astronomical positions of the planets and events on earth.  In short, the planetary movements influence the moments of time. It is concerned with the apparent positions of the sun, moon and planets at the exact moment of your birth and asserts that these connect systematically with their character, personal and professional relationships, personality traits, etc. The astronomical positions are considered to have an influence on a person’s destiny, while many astrologers feel that self determination, self sufficiency plays a role in any individual’s life.

At Religious kart, we strongly believe that astrology other than merely being a scientific or psychological instrument can also be seen as an influential and fun tool to understand ourselves, others and the external world around us.

There have been lot of instances where astrology has proven itself at par to the science like there is a branch of astrology which is seen as astrophysics which forecasts natural calamities and astrologers have proven that as any physician can foresee an earthquake or a tsunami even a good astrologer can do the same by calculating the positions of the planets. So all the branches of science be it physics, astronomy, astrology or astrophysics do cater the same results as they express similar truth in different forms.

If life seems like a chain of insignificant events, astrology can be comforting sign that perhaps things happen for reason. It can illuminate on inner contradictions and natural strengths. As a map of psyche, the birth chart is a guide to self understanding that never stops enlightening new layers of insight.  Astrology also influences people psychologically; it can make or break a person’s psychology; however it does make it because astrologers generally make people look at the silver lining.

Carl Jung, wrote, “Like vintage years of wine, we have the qualities of the year and of the season in which we are born.”

Your birth chart ‘kundali’ is the entire life jotted down on a piece of paper/cloth. The birth time is essential, if not known; you can use 12 pm (noon). Though, it can give a sense of the planets in the zodiac signs, it won’t be possible to place planets accurately in the houses

So, to know yourself and your relationship with the universe, astrology is always ready to lend a helping hand.
