What is Chogadhiya?
Cho- gadhiya means four gadhi which means 96 minutes, or Chogadhiya is used to check auspicious time before starting any work.
Chogadhiya shows Dina, Nakshatra, Tithi, Yoga, Karna for any auspicious activity every day. Pandits before starting any activity take note of all these factors and avoid an unlucky period so that rituals that follow yield proper and fruitful results. And you should avoid any travels or starting any new project during this period.
How many types of Chogadhiya are there?
There are a total number of 7 types of units. Four of them are good Chogadhiya: Amrit, Shubh, Labh, and Char which are considered auspicious.
And there are 3 types of bad Chogadhiya , they are Rog, Kaal, Udyeg which are unlucky and should be avoided before starting anything new. Thus, it is recommended that these units are avoided as they are considered inauspicious.
How is Chogadhiya calculated?
Chogadhiya revolves around sunrise and sunset. And in popular Hindu belief, Chogadhiya changes from place to place . The time between sunrise and sunset is called Day Chogadhiya while the next set which is from sunset to sunrise is called Night Chogadhiya.
So, if you are still in doubts about when to start and Before taking up any new project, buying any plot or vehicle, keep in mind the auspicious unit of Chodahiya . Starting any work without considering Chogadhiya will not be fruitful!
